The Rt. Rev. Nicholas Knisely
Episcopal Bishop of Rhode Island

Join us Tuesday, July 21 at 5:00 PM at Watch Hill Chapel for a timely and insightful talk given by The Rt. Rev. W. Nicholas Knisley, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island.  The talk explores. “AI and Our Personhood.”

A physicist and astronomer by training, Bishop Knisley holds degrees from the University of Delaware and earned his Master of Divinity from Berkeley Divinity School at Yale.  Ordained Bishop in 2012, he previously served as Dean of Trinity Cathedral in Phoenix and in the dioceses of Delaware, Bethlehem, and Pittsburgh. Widely recognized as the Episcopal Church’s “Lead Science Bishop,” he serves as liaison to the Anglican Communion Science Commission, is a member of the Society of Ordained Scientists, and is the author of several books including Lent is Not Rocket Science.

Bishop Knisley will explore how artificial intelligence challenges and illuminates our understanding of personhood, relationship, and what it means to be created in the image of God—drawing on both scientific insight and Christian theology.

All are welcome. Don’t miss this thought-provoking exploration of faith and technology.
